“Exit Salida” was born at an epic late-night recording session at Blue Cat Studios in San Antonio. Featuring Augie Meyers on Vox organ, Flaco Jimenez on background vocals and accordion, saxophonist Louie Bustos and trumpeter Al Gomez of the original West Side Horns, and Michael Guerra on button accordion, the recording was a really a party and singalong about as close as one can get to the outlaw spirit of Doug Sahm and Texas Tornados fun. Never released as a single, “Exit Salida” is the perfect way to kick off 2026 puro San Antonio style and say thank you to Augie Meyers for helping us produce the track and gracias to Joe Treviño who worked the console. “Exit Salida” rocks — and maybe, just maybe is the perfect soundtrack for the next Southwest Airlines commercial.
